Our Mission & Approach

In 1990, the Area Rescue Mission was formed using the old Bonaire Elementary School as shelter from the elements. In 2017 the men’s shelter in Effingham had become too dilapidated to continue to use, and the men were moved to the facility on Darlington Street.

Hundreds of men have walked through our doors in that time. Each man’s story is different, yet they all had one thing in common: they needed guidance and the love of a savior
