New Hope Village Groundbreaking Ceremony
Florence 1 Schools and House of Hope of the Pee Dee are proud to partner together to create a first-of-its-kind tiny home community in Florence! This community is designed to support Florence 1 families experiencing homelessness and will be built on district-owned property on Douglas Street.
An official Groundbreaking Ceremony celebrating this partnership and tiny-home community will be held on August 18th at 3 pm. Representatives from Florence 1 and House of Hope will give brief remarks before breaking ground at the site.
We hope you'll join us as we celebrate this exciting milestone and the impact this community will have for years to come.

Hope Invitational 2026 & Champions Dinner
The Hope Invitational 2026 is House of Hope of the Pee Dee's premier competitive golf championship. This 18-hole individual stroke play tournament is designed for skilled golfers with a handicap of 20 or below, offering a true test of ability while supporting a meaningful cause. Proceeds from the tournament help House of Hope provide shelter, meals, addiction recovery, and long-term transitional housing for men, women, and children experiencing homelessness throughout the Pee Dee. Compete for the championship while making a lasting impact in our community.

Evening of Hope 2023 - Dr. Ben Carson
Dr. Ben Carson, a former neurosurgeon and HUD secretary, was the guest speaker at the Evening of Hope event hosted by the House of Hope on March 6, 2023 at the Florence Center in South Carolina. The event aimed to raise awareness and funds for the House of Hope, a nonprofit organization that provides shelter and services for homeless people in the Pee Dee region. Dr. Carson shared his inspiring life story and his vision for solving the housing crisis in America. He also praised the House of Hope for their work and encouraged the attendees to support their cause.
