Men, women and children in the Pee Dee sleep in abandoned buildings, cars, alleyways, and even on the street. Each year, more and more people become homeless, with women and children the fastest growing group. Just imagine having to rummage through garbage for food and sleeping outside with little ones with you. Some of the female residents have done just that. But, homelessness doesn’t have to mean hopelessness. House of Hope helps the homeless of the Pee Dee.
Homeless people don’t need handouts. They need a helping hand. Our residents are taught to set goals, work, budget their finances, and take care of themselves and their families so they can become contributing members of society.
We are open 365 days a year feeding approximately 30 men and 30 women and children 3 meals a day everyday. We also provide housing, medicine, transportation (gasoline), heat or air conditioning, hot water, bedding, clothing, and even school supplies for the children. Operating the ministry’s two facilities cost about $800,000 a year.
We need your help. We operate 100% on contributions from churches, individuals, and businesses. Even when donations slow, our expenses continue. Please...
